Yia Yia’s Bolognese was my favourite dish growing up as a child.
I remember just never having enough, this is the case even today.

This morning at Little Darlings Yia yia did a cooking session with the children making her famous Bolognese.
Yia yia had all the ingredients ready, lamb mince, carrot, celery, onion ,garlic and parsley.
As I watched YiaYia cook her Bolognese I coudn’t help but notice how healthy this Bolognese receipe is. Once the Bolognese was ready I watched the children happily eating the Bolognese and asking for seconds some thirds!
For the first time after all these years it hit me her trick is 2 key ingredients.
I was convinced the cinnamon and cloves must be the trick to making this receipe such a success with all ages.
My mother later explained that her receipe was passed down from her mother who used cinnamon and cloves as healthy option to give food that natural sweetness.
